Siding Replacement
Plan siding replacement by elevation, from the existing wall condition to the way new cladding meets windows, doors, trim and the roofline.

Map the edges of the work
Review each side of the house separately. Existing trim depths, meters, hose connections and adjacent roofing can affect how siding starts and stops. Identify any walls that will remain so the transitions can be detailed in advance.
Agree how hidden conditions will be handled
The condition of the sheathing and weather protection becomes clearer once old boards come off. Establish how newly exposed damage will be documented and priced, and which finish and paint work is included.
Can we replace siding on one side of the house?
Often that is possible. Compare the proposed material with the remaining walls and review corners, color differences and where the new assembly will end.
