Trim and Molding Installation
Choose baseboards, casing and crown molding that fit the room proportions and meet neatly at doorways, floors and ceiling transitions.

Compare profiles at full scale
A small sample held against the wall shows how a profile relates to a door casing or window. Review inside corners, changes in floor height and the point where new trim meets an untouched room.
Plan the painting and patching
Replacing trim can reveal a paint line, old fasteners or gaps from a shorter profile. Include surface preparation and the finish coat in the scope, particularly when nearby walls will keep their current color.
Should trim go in before or after flooring?
Sequence depends on the flooring and which trim is being reused. Coordinate the installer and finish carpenter before either trade starts at a shared edge.
