Interior Painting
Plan interior painting by room and surface, including repairs, protection, sheen and a clear list of walls, ceilings, doors and trim.

Separate preparation from color choices
Note nail holes, old patches, peeling areas and surfaces that have a different sheen. A room-by-room scope should say whether ceilings, closets, doors and baseboards are included, even when everything is being painted a similar color.
Test samples in the light you live with
Look at samples near a window and in the least-lit corner of the room. Review the finish beside flooring and fixed cabinets. Coordinate access and drying time with furniture moves and any other remodeling work.
Can a single wall be touched up without repainting the room?
Sometimes a touch-up blends, especially with recent paint from the same batch. Test a small area first and compare it from across the room after it dries.
