Cupertino's Building Division sets the permit route by address and scope, and a full kitchen remodel normally goes through plan review rather than an instant permit.
- Check what the City allows online. Cupertino offers a short list of instant residential permits through Accela Citizen Access, but those cover narrow items such as re-roofs and re-piping, not a kitchen redesign.
- Submit plans electronically. For a remodel with layout, electrical or wall changes, we upload the drawing set for standard plan review using the City's electronic submittal.
- Pass the inspections. Rough electrical, plumbing and framing are inspected while walls are open, and a final inspection closes the permit.
