San Mateo's Building Division reviews kitchen work through its Customer Self-Service (CSS) portal, and the scope determines how much review the project receives.
- Apply online. We open the application in the CSS portal and upload the architect's drawings for the kitchen.
- Respond to review. Corrections go back through the same portal, and eligible minor projects may be handled through a virtual over-the-counter review.
- Inspections on site. City inspectors check rough work before walls close and sign off the permit at the final visit.
